Department Of Urdu Govt. College For Women Udhampur Organises An Essay Writing Competition On Munshi Prem Chand.

The department of Urdu Government College for Women Udhampur on October 31, 2023 organized an essay writing competition on the topic Munshi Prem Chand: ‘’HAYAT AUR AFSANA NIGARI’’ as a part of departmental academic calendar activity 2023-24.
Worthy Principal of the college Prof. Anjali Mahajan was the chief guest of this occasion. The program was inaugurated with the formal welcome address by Prof.Yash Paul. In his welcome address he extended warm welcome on behalf of Department of Urdu, the staff and students of GCW Udhampur to all the participants.
Principal of the college Prof. Anjali Mahajan in her address emphasized that activities like these always teaches the students how to research, organize and write about the topic by turning their thoughts and opinions into clearer composition of words. Further she also congratulated the department of Urdu for organization of such literary activities.
The competition was organised with the purpose to familiarize the students about the practice and to enhance their writing skill in Urdu language and to engage the readers as how to express their views by using the written words in the correct manner which helps to improve written communication skills
The competition was attended by almost 11 students. Makhana Begum,Tasneem –ul-Nissa and Shabeena Akhter were adjudged First, Second and Third respectively. The winners were awarded the certificate of merit. The entire program was convened and conducted by .Dr. Mool Raj HOD Urdu who in his concluding remarks said that competitions like these will expose the participants to a wide range of topics and help them look more proficient when conversing with the life and achievements of personalities of writers like Munshi Prem Chand. Besides it teaches us how to narrate, capture your reader’s attention and deliver educational and emotional messages. The other members involved in the smooth conduct of the program were Prof. Javed Ahmed Najar, Prof. Mohd. Ashraf and Prof. Mohd. Hussain. The evaluation was done by .Dr.Mool Raj [HOD Urdu] and Prof. Javed Ahmed Najar. The competition was ended with vote of thanks by Prof. Javed Hussain Nazar of Urdu.
