ECO Club, GCW Udhampur Organizes “Poster Making Competition”

To commemorate Science Day, the ECO Club Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur organized a Poster making Competition on the theme Go Green for a Sustainable Future in the college premises here on February 24, 2024.
Principal of the host college, Prof. Anjali Mahajan was the chief guest on the occasion.
As many as 14 students of host college participated in the competition and expressed their views and ideas in the form of beautiful posters in front of the jury members with great enthusiasm and energy.
In the poster making contest, Manvi Rathore of Sem-II adjudged first position, while Sampada Khajuria of Sem-IV and Renu Bharti of B.Sc sem-IV secured second and third position respectively. Besides consolation prizes were also awarded to Shafiya Mushtaq of Sem-IV and Rashika Devi of Sem II.
While speaking on the occasion, Prof Anjali Mahajan lauded the efforts of Eco Club in organizing the event of great importance in her college. She said that the contest has enabled the students to expose their talent on a common platform which would help in building self-confidence amongst them. She urged for more such programmes in near future also.
Earlier, the welcome speech was made by Dr. Neha Antal Convener ECO Club and briefed about the main theme of the programme .
Dr. Indu Khajuria, Department of Chemistry, Dr. Sanjeet Kour, Department of Zoology and Prof. Neha Gupta, Department of Commerce were acted as judge in the contest. Prizes and certificates were also given among the winners by the chief guest.
The programme was well coordinated by members of ECO Club, Dr. Sushma Sharma, Ms. Pooja Bharti and Mr. Yash Kumar. The programme concluded with the formal vote of thanks by Dr. Om Prakash, Co-Convener, ECO Club.
Among others, senior faculty members and large number of the students were also present on the occasion.
