GCW Udhampur Organizes Study Visit Tour At SKUAST Jammu

Institution’s Innovation Council, GCW Udhampur in collaboration with Department of Science and Technology, Udhampur conducted a study visit of B.Com Sem VI students to SKUAST Jammu on February 29, 2024.
The activity was conducted under the able guidance of Prof. Anjali Mahajan, Principal of the college. Students and faculty were mesmerized to see lush green environmental friendly and pollution-free huge campus of the university.
Students visited various units like hi-tech nursery for horticulture crops, mushroom cultivation and spawn production and bee-keeping.
Prof. Moni Gupta from Div. of Biochemistry, delivered a lecture and provided demonstration of mushroom unit regarding cultivation of medicinal mushrooms.
A lecture and demonstration of cultivation of button and oyster mushrooms was also given by Prof. Sachin Gupta from Div. of Plant Pathology.
Students also visited bee-keeping unit and gained valuable information regarding bee colonies and honey collection.
The whole activity was organised and coordinated by Ms. Shruti Khanna, District Coordinator, Department of Science and Technology and Prof. Neha Gupta, Convener, IIC GCW Udhampur.
The students were accompanied by Prof. Pardeep Singh and Dr. Manmeet Kour.
